The Independent's "Great Depression" frontpage is a fake

Via Campaignspot

Used to illustrate this story on how America is heading into another "great depression", the Independent labels the photo as:

"Disadvantaged Americans queueing for aid in New York".

Turns out that they weren't queueing in 2008 - they were queueing in 2005

NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 30: People wait on line to receive donated coats at the kickoff of the 17th annual New York Cares Coat Drive a the Bowery Mission November 30, 2005 in New York City. Bloomberg helped give out coats to residents of the Mission and the coat drive hopes to collect and distribute 80,000 coats to needy New Yorkers by New Years. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty images)

don't you love journalism's constant, unremitting displays of integrity and principle...?

Do you suppose they are run by a Chinese cabal? Maybe the same one which put all those bluesuits in front of Downing Street. Now that was creepy. One can only hope it has a good outcome for the mayoral election.

The independent is a far-left anti-american newspaper. This is an example of how deceiving it can be in order to promote its far-left view of the world.
Using a picture of people in line in 2005 waiting to get free coats with the title 'great depression' is a new low. This picture should have been used to illustrate how the mayor of New York tries to help homeless people.
Shame on you Independent , you suck.
