This is Jonathan Porritt.

Jonathan was educated at Eton and graduated from Magdalen College , Oxford.

He then trained as barrister, but instead decided on a career as a teacher in 1974.

Jonathan, despite having no scientific qualifications whatsoever, became Chairman of the Ecology Party (now the Green Party) from 1978 to 1984. He gave up teaching to become Director of Friends of the Earth until 1990.

Despite having never been elected in his entire life,and having zero experience of running a business and Jonathan now has power over you , by being a board member of the South West of England Development Agency, which has a budget running into the hundreds of millions.

He is also chair of the taxpayer funded Sustainable Development Commission.

Jonathan also has his own charity - Forum for the Future. It is part subsidised by the UK government and the European Commission.



In 2005 his charity received:

£120,250 from central government
£440,217 from local government
£47,069 from the universities
£60,493 from the European Union. ( in 2004, this was £119,000)

So effectively we have a high profile lobbyist being paid to lobby with plum jobs from HM government, and a wedge of cash from the European Union.

This may I add, is an "ecologist" without any qualifications whatsoever in ecological science, has never been elected to any office, and yet is a major influencer on our elected government in the area of "sustainable development". which is EU speak for bugger all development
